Panchgani is a picturesque hill station in the Satara district of the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Situated at an altitude of 1334 m, it is one of the top hill resorts in Maharashtra and among the best hill stations near Pune and Mumbai.

This small hill station was a favourite summer resort for the British and continues to be so among tourists and locals.

Parsi Point

Parsi Point is one of the famous viewpoints located in Panchgani and is one of the top Panchgani Tourist Places.

It derives its name from the fact that in earlier days, it was a favorite spot of the Parsi Community.

The viewpoint is known for its extensive views of the lush green Krishna Valley and the backwaters of Dhoom Dam. The place is best suited for Sunrise/Sunset as it provides an excellent setup for the perfect landscape photograph. 


Dhoom Dam

Dhoom Dam is a manmade dam located in the vicinity of Panchgani, Maharashtra.

It is an earth fill and gravity dam built on Krishna River near Wai in 1982. The dam is the key source for Koregaon, Javli and Khandala taluks of Satara.

The Dhoom Lake formed by the backwaters of the dam offers water activities like water scooters, speed boats, banana boats and motor boats. 


Table Land

Table Land is the highest point in Panchgani and is considered as Asia’s second longest mountain plateau after the Tibetan plateau.

Table Land is a vast expanse of flat laterite rock surrounded by hills hence the name Table Land. It is one of the best places to visit in Panchgani and also one of the top places to experience Panchgani Tourism.

A favourite shooting spot for Bollywood movies, such as ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Agent Vinod’, it also offers beautiful sunset. The place also has several activities like horse riding, merry go rounds, mini trains, food stalls and a couple of game counters.


Mapro Garden

Mapro Garden is one of the most popular places situated at Panchgani. It was established in 1980s by Mr. Kishore Vora as an extension of the Mapro Foods Factory which enabled visitors to see the production of jams and syrups.

It is one of the beautiful tourist places to visit in Panchgani. Mapro premises consist of the Chocolate factory, a small nursery, a restaurant serving delectable food, children’s play area and retail outlet selling mapro products.

Mapro Garden is host to the annual four day Strawberry Festival held in the month of March/April.


Sydney Point

Sydney Point is one of the popular vantage points located in Panchgani, Maharashtra.The spot is famous for providing stunning views of the Krishna Valley, Dhoom Dam, Kamalgad Fort and the city of Wai.

The viewpoint was named after Sir Sidney Beckwarth, Commander in Chief of the council. The tiny hillock offers spectacular views of the hill ranges of Pandavgad and Mandhardeo.
