Sometimes people visit popular tourist destinations to explore the place and absorb the rich culture. These popular tourist places do attract many people and help the country to gain GDP through this, however, these are some places which attract people due to the sad history that is attached to the place. These places are called Dark Tourist places and some examples include Chernobyl, Suicide Forest in Japan etc.
According to recent news, popular tourism experts believe that the city of Wuhan in China will become a popular Dark Tourism Place and according to the recent survey conducted, it seems that Wuhan has been named as No.1 Chinese Destination to visit after the end of coronavirus outbreak. The study was conducted by the Chinese Tourism Academy in Beijing.
Despite being one of the popular places since the beginning, Wuhan did not have popularity tag attached to it compared to other popular cities such as Shanghai, Beijing or Xi’an. But after the recent outbreak of Coronavirus, Wuhan has climbed the top of its charts in must-visit city in China and now is a popular tourist destination like Chernobyl, Pearl Harbour etc.
And of course, Hunan Sea Food market would probably be the #1 place to visit in Wuhan and it was considered Ground Zero for the coronavirus outbreak.
The capital of Hubei Province is also home to a variety of cultural, historic, and natural attractions. One of its iconic sights is the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, which helped form Wuhan from the merger of three neighbouring cities. The Yellow Crane Tower, East Lake and Hubei Provincial Museum are also some of the other famous tourist attractions.
