Vivo a brand from Vivo Electronics Corp, a Chinese smartphone maker recently unveiled their new range of phone called x50. The x50 is a premium mid-range phone with 5G connectivity and x50+ has the fastest snapdragon 865. Announced on 1st June 2020 Vivo has its share of one of the makers of smartphone that is affordable to consumers.
Coming to their new x50 range of smartphones is one of the first smartphones which employs a gimbal system of camera stabilization which is pioneering the feature for the entire smartphone industry. This feature in the camera of x50 range of Vivo cellphones is one of the best in case of capturing images and videos.
The Vivo x50 is a dual-glass smartphone. It weighs at 174.5gms and has a dimension of 159.5 x 75.4 x 7.6 mm. The build quality of Vivo x50 is a glass front, glass back and an aluminium frame. The phone features AMOLED display with 16M colour. Vivo x50 comes at a size of 6.56 inches, 104.6 cm2 with 87% screen-to-body ratio. The display features 1080 x 2376 pixels resolution with 398ppi density. Vivo x50 comes with HDR10+ resolution with 90Hz refresh rate which is quite fast
Vivo x50 comes with Android 10.with Google Funtouch 10.5 which the interface seems to be clean and clutter-free. It runs on Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G (7 nm) chipset and Octa-core CPU, GPU is Adreno 620. The phone does not come with an external memory card slot but has an internal memory of 128GB and 256GB. Both the phone features 8GB RAM and UFS 2.1.
The phone does not have 3.5mm earphone/headphone jack but has a loudspeaker, the phone audio system supports 24-bit/192kHz audio. With a host of features, such as Fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, colour spectrum.
The phone also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC are present and USB Type C-1.0 reversible connector is present. The phone does not support radio.
Vivo x50 comes with Li-Po battery with 4200mAH capacity, it also supports Fast Charging 33W.
Coming to the camera specifications, as mentioned before, the phones come with inbuilt gimbal which helps to capture motion-free images. The phones feature quad-camera at the rear end which is 48MP Sony IMX598 f/1.6, (wide), PDAF, OIS primary which has an inbuilt gimbal system, the second camera features 8MP Ultra-wide shooter which also acts as a macro camera with an impressive focal distance of 2.5cm, the third camera comes with 13MP portrait camera with 2x optical zoom and finally 8MP camera with 135mm periscope lens for 5x optical zoom. The camera features Dual-LED, Dual Tone flash and is capable of HDR and Panorama images. The rear camera can capture 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS.
The selfie camera that Vivo x50 posses 32MP f/2.5, 26mm wide lens which is capable of HDR images and can also record video at 1080p at 30fps.
Vivo x50 comes with Glaze Black, Frost Blue and Pink colours and I personally liked the processing speed of the phone which is on par with many medium-premium range smartphones.
