Recently, OnePlus the global giant in cellphone manufacture shared a piece of happy news with releasing their budget series of cellphone and the executives had stated that it is a ‘new beginning’ for Chinese cellphone maker.

The Budget series of smartphone from OnePlus is available for ordering from August 04 onwards and here is the specification of the new smartphone.

OnePlus Nord weighs 184gms and has dimensions of 158.30 x 73.30 x 8.20mm. It comes with a screen size of 6.44in AMOLED display and a resolution of 1080x2400pixels with a pixel density of 408ppi and aspect ratio of 20:9. The phone has a refresh rate of 90Hz. The phone has Gorilla Glass 5 protection which is scratch-proof and drop-proof. The display seems very similar to OnePlus 8 and OnePlus has made no compromise on Display for their budget series of smartphone.

The display of the phone is huge and it takes some time to get adjusted, however, the phone is suitable for to watch movies or stream content from OTT platforms The Nord offers several modes like Video Enhancer, Reading Mode and Night mode to customize display settings.

Hardware comes with 2.4Ghz Octa-core processor which is from Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. OnePlus Nord has 3 RAM sizes of 6GB/64GB of internal storage, 8GB/128GB of internal storage and 12GB/256GB of internal storage. There is no option for external storage. The Nord runs under Android 10 OS and its skin is from Oxygen OS 10.5.

One Plus Nord has 6 cameras, 4 rear and 2 in the front. OnePlus Nord features a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor with OIS, EIS, f/1.75aperture and has 3 secondary sensors of 8MP, 5MP and 2MP respectively. There’s Dual LED flash, multi autofocus(PDAF+CAF). The device supports 4K video recording at 30 fps, 1080p video at 30/60 fps, Super Slow Motion at 1080p at 240 fps and Time-lapse at 4K/30 fps and 1080p/30 fps.

Overall camera quality is good but not the best, the real deal is from the 48MP main camera as secondary cameras are not up to the mark. Photos taken from the camera is crisp with no oversaturated image and has a good amount of detail, but it totally depends on overall lighting and lowlight shots are not up to the mark against their premium range of smartphones. Also, the macro lens is not up to the mark, however, a decent picture can be taken using the zoom function.

OnePlus Nord lacks quick to focus as it lags a bit for few milliseconds and especially in low-light photography, the focus gets a bit off for few seconds however, they are not the best in the case compared to fellow OnePlus 8 and 8 pro.

In the front, OnePlus Nord has 2 cameras with 32MP and 8MP sensors. The OnePlus Nord selfie camera features a 32MP SonyIMX616 sensor with f/2.45 aperture along with 8MP f/2.45 aperture secondary sensor. The front camera offers 4K video recording at 30/60 fps, 1080p video at 30/60 fps, Time-lapse. The front camera produces good quality selfies which are required for social media images.

OnePlus Nord is a dual-sim phone where it is 5G supported, but as India is yet to roll out 5G we expect as of now it runs on 4G. Both the sim type are nano-sim. OnePlus Nord features a decent range of connectivity where it supports Wi-Fi of standards 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. GPS, NFC is supported, the Bluetooth connectivity is supported with Bluetooth v5.10.

OnePlus Nord comes with 4115mAh battery with WarpCharge 30T which is a fast charge. The battery is non-removable and it does not support wireless charging.

One plus Nord supports all type of sensors such as Face Unlock, Fingerprint sensors, In-display fingerprint sensor, Compass, magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Light sensor and Gyroscope.

Overall, OnePlus Nord does not fail as a budget smartphone and for people looking out for a premium look in a budget range, OnePlus Nord meets their expectation. However, you need to compromise against their premium range of smartphones which offers more specifications and UI friendly.
