Its official, Bali which is one of the popular SE Asian tourist destinations will welcome International Tourists from September 11. They are calling it “New Era of Life Order Protocol”.

It is the three-phased plan to restore the Island’s economy and the island will be open to tourists with a new set of rules and regulations.

I Wayan Koster, the governor of Bali after seeking blessings at Besakih Hindu temple at Karangasem where thousands other attended the prayer signed a new decree saying it’s the ‘New Era of Life Order Protocol’. This comes with strict health protocol and to revive economy Bali’s three-phased reopening plan kicks off this week.

From July 9, the local administration will allow some business to happen such as health services, fishing, restaurants, modern markets, finance. On Phase -2, tourism will start to revive that is from 31st July where Indonesians can visit the Island and in the final or third stage, international tourists can visit the place.

Currently, the news of allowing International travel has been circulated, however, it is not known of which all countries will be allowed and do the travellers need to undergo quarantine measures and testing mandatory is yet to be provided.

Tourism is one of the major contributors of GDP to Bali. And it has suffered hugely where only 2.07% of occupancy has been reported whereas it was 62.55% last December.

Under the new guidelines of Cleanliness, Health and Safety Bali decided to allow tourism from October. The island reported 1,850 cases and 20 deaths so far where Indonesia has reported 63,000+ cases and 3,171 deaths.
